One of the
beauties of home schooling is you aren’t
always bound to the rules of school. You
can take recess at 9 a.m. or have math class
at dinnertime. Whether you are a mom teaching
your little one Bible Study after math class
or a mom teaching a super special sweetie
special education, here are a few of our
favorite fun activities to incorporate into
your school day.
Play to Learn
Play Dough is fun for playtime and school
time. Bring it into math class for counting
and sorting fun or use it as a language
tool to practice letter sounds and spelling
words. If you have a challenged child, play
dough is also a great way to keep them focused
while having fun and learning.
*Helpful Hint:
Print out a few of our educational coloring
pages and let your little one use the dough
to fill in the lines of the drawing. It’s
a fun alternative to crayons and makes a
great 3-D activity. To make your picture
last, try clay instead.
Get Eco Friendly
One of the only downfalls of home schooling
is that children miss networking with other
kids and getting in on the bigger picture.
Help your little one become a part of The
Big Green Help and get eco friendly in fun,
unexpected ways. You’ve heard of trash to
treasure sculptures, right? Visit your local
salvage yard or recycle your own toss aways
to make a brilliant sculpture. Nuts and
bolts or milk jugs and buttons, let your
little one use their imagination to come
up with something spectacular!
*Helpful Hint:
Make a recycled frame instead and use it
to showcase one of our educational coloring
pages painted especially by your little
Picasso. |
